What to do by layover length

Under 4 hours: stay in the airport

  • International and domestic terminals are separate; follow signs for the walking path or the inter-terminal bus, and allow extra time.

4 to 8 hours

Getting to Auckland takes about 100 minutes round trip, so a city trip is tight. Consider staying airside or nearby.

8 hours or more: leave the airport

No rail link; the SkyDrive bus or a car takes about 45 to 60 minutes to the city centre.
